-One USB ISDN Adapter,
(1) Start your PC as usual, and then plug in the USB ISDN Adapter to any spare USB port on your system. Windows will report that it has found a new hardware and will open the Add New Hardware Wizard reporting that it searches for the new drivers for this Device. Click on the Next button.
(2) Windows will propose to search for the best drivers for your device. Click on the Next button.
(3) Insert the driver CD (or diskette for Windows 98 driver), click Specify a location and key in the driver path (for CD, the path is D:\Driver\Win98 where D is the CD drive; for diskette, the path is A:\win98) then click Next button.
(4) The driver for USB ISDN Adapter will be proposed. Click on the Next button.
(5)
Windows will copy
driver files for this device.
(6) Click on the Finish button to finish the installation of the USB ISDN Adapter.
(7)
ISDN Configuration
windows will be shown, click on the Next button.
(8)
Select Switch protocol, please select DSS1: Euro-ISDN for European
telephone company users, then click
on the Next
button.
(9)
You have to enter the
Phone Number(s) of your ISDN line. Click on the Next
button to continue.
(10)
Windows will prompt
that ISDN configuration is complete. Click on Finish button, Windows will
then install the CAPI drivers from Operating System CD. If it can not find the
Operating system CD, then you will be prompted to provide the CD location.
(11)
After this
installation process, we can check the drivers. The Device Manager panel
of the System Properties will show the addition of CAPI 2.0 driver and USB
ISDN adapter in the ISDN Drivers section and ISDN WAN miniport
in the Network Adapters section: The ISDN driver is divided in 2 parts,
the USB ISDN driver and the CAPI driver. ISDN WAN miniport is also
installed in Device Manager, inside the Network adapters section.

Windows 2000 and 2000 Server Installation
(1) Start your PC as usual, and then plug in the USB ISDN Adapter to any spare USB port on your system. Windows will show Found New Hardware Wizard reporting that it will help to install a device driver for a hardware device. Click on the Next button.
(2) Windows will propose to search for a suitable driver for your device, click on the Next button again.
(3) Insert the driver CD (or diskette for Win 2000 driver); select Specify location and click on the Next button.
(4) Key in the driver path (for CD, the path is D:\Driver\Win2K where D is the CD drive; for diskette, the path is A:\) then click OK button.
*For Windows 2000 server user please select path D:\Driver\Win2000server*
(5)
The driver for USB
ISDN will be proposed. Click on the Next
button.
(6)
Click Finish
button to finish the installation of the USB ISDN Adapter.
(7) After
this installation process, we can check the drivers. The Device Manager
panel of the System Properties will show the addition of CAPI 2.0 driver
and USB ISDN adapter in the ISDN Drivers section and ISDN WAN
miniport in the Network Adapters section: The ISDN driver is divided
in 2 parts, the USB ISDN driver and the CAPI driver. ISDN WAN miniport is
also installed in Device Manager, inside the Network adapters
section.
The PC has USB
port, simply insert the USB to serial cable
(later we
will call it the device) into the USB port.
(1)Power on the PC, Windows ME will recognize the device. It will show Found New hardware Wizard, select Specify the location of the drivers and also select Specify the location, Select Search for the best driver for your device. (Recommended) Insert the driver CD or diskette, select the driver location by keying the driver path (for CD, the path is D:\Driver\WinME where D is the CD drive; for diskette, the path is A:\WinME), then click Next.
(2) Windows ME will search and recognize the driver of the Device, click Next.
(3) Windows will automatically copy the driver files and related files into the system.
(4) After copying the driver files, the device installation is completed, click Finish.
(5) Now USB ISDN Adapter
is ready to use.
(1)Make sure your PC is powered on and that you are at the Windows XP operating system.
(2)Insert the USB cable (the A-type connector) into the USB port on your PC. , Windows XP will recognize the device. It will show “found New hardware Wizard”, select “Install the software automatically (Recommanded)” and insert the driver diskette or CD and click "Next".
(3)
Windows XP will search the best match driver of the device,

Then Windows will pop-up one Hardware Installation windows please
click "Continue Anyway" system will automatically copy the
driver files and related files into

After copying the driver files, the device installation is completed, click
"Finish".
8.1 Dial
up Networking Configuration
(1) When
you want to use 2 B channels for your ISP connection then you have to do the
following procedure. From Dial Up Networking, change properties on your ISP
icon.
(2) Then
select Multilink Tab.
(3) Check
Use additional devices, and Press Add button.
(4)
Edit Extra Devices
windows pop up, select ISDN WAN miniport-ISDN2 from the Device Name list,
and Press OK.
(5)
Now select Server
Types Tab and verify the log on to network option is not checked.
With Windows 2000 this option is unchecked by default. You do not need it for
ISP connection and it will delay your response time to server connection.
(6)
Press OK to
exit the configuration.
8.2 Dial
up Networking Connection
(1)
The main advantages
of ISDN connections compare to PSTN connections is the high bit rate, up to
128Kbit/second and the low connection time. After clicking on Connect
button the dialing sequence will last less than 1 second.
(2)
Now, you just have to
wait for Server response time to identification and IPCP negotiation.
(3)
If the identification
succeeds then the menu will close and the taskbar ISDN icon will report the new
status of the connection.
8.3 Taskbar
Information
(1)
The Taskbar reports
useful information for quick ISDN connection status.
8.4 Connected
at 128,000 bps
(1)
When you press on Details
button you have access to more information on the connection, but you are also
able to hang-up the second line manually with the Suspend button. If the
operation succeeds then the Menu change to Connected at 64,000 bps.
8.5 Connected
at 64,000 bps
(1)
When you press on Details
button you have access to more information on the connection, but you are also
able to activate the second line manually with the Resume button. If the
operation succeeds then the Menu change to Connected at 128,000 bps.
If
your system already has the USB ISDN drivers installed, you can install a new
version. However, you must first uninstall the current USB ISDN drivers, using
the following procedure:
(1) Open
the Control Panel from the Start/Settings menu.
(2) In
the Control Panel, double-click on the Add/Remove Programs icon.
The Add/Remove Programs Properties dialog box opens.
(3)
Select the ISDN
Drivers entry, and click the Add/Remove button.
(4) When
ISDN Drivers is removed from the list, Click OK. USB ISDN drivers
and devices will now be uninstalled.
If you want to
upgrade the drivers, restart the PC and install new drivers when prompted to.
Otherwise, you can turn off your PC, unplug the USB ISDN adapter from the PC.
