6. Troubleshooting

[How should I use the CFGPS while in a car?]

Use an external antenna for better signals and accuracy.

[Why can't I open a COM port?]

       1. You need to re-insert the CF GPS card or close all other applications that are using a COM port.

       2. If step one doesn't work, try to reset your mobile device.

[Why can't CF GPS card get a satellite lock, or encounter receiving problems?]

We have two suggestions:

       1. Move to another open space or reposition the CF GPS card toward the direction with less blockage.

       2. Use an external antenna for better signals and accuracy.

*Sometime in bad weather the signal is too weak, CF GPS card can't get a satellite lock.

[Why can't I install the GPS DIAG when in section 4.2 ?]

You need to copy the "GPSDIAG.exe" file to the "Documents" folder of your mobile device, then run it. To find this file, please insert our software CD, go to "CE" folder, then open "PDAEXE" folder, select the type of your mobile device then click it. You will find four folders for the different types of CPUs, choose your CPU type and copy the "GPSDIAG.exe" file to the "Documents" folder of your mobile device.

*Reference your mobile device manual or specifications to find its CPU type.
